Foundations (3-4 weeks)

In a Post Seed to Series A organization, your strongest brand asset is often something you already have: You. Every team has its own personality — a rhythm, a style, a voice — and in this first sprint we'll uncover and codify the personality that powers your products. Through stakeholder interviews, product deep-dives, and a bit of guided soul-searching, we’ll surface the “why” behind what you do and build a concise Brand Bible that captures your mission, voice, core audience, and visual DNA.

Story and Strategy (3-4 weeks)

With the foundation set, it's time to give the brand a heartbeat. Together we’ll map 3 to 4 priority personas, pinpoint where they spend most of their time, and design the content, web, marketing, and social architecture to reach them there. We'll collaborate cross-functionally to align every touchpoint, from landing pages and marketing materials to customer support and nurture flows, and ensure they reflect what you stand for and how you want people to feel when they encounter your brand.

Launch (3-4 weeks)

Now we go live. With your story clear and your audience defined, we’ll launch your brand into the world through a calibrated mix of paid, earned, and owned media. We’ll double down on what resonates, refine what doesn't, and adapt quickly, honing in on the most effective messaging and channels.

Momentum (ongoing)

With traction under foot, it's time to lean into what’s working and step on the gas. We’ll scale the channels that convert, experiment with new platforms and personas, and forge partnerships with kindred brands and creators. Bridging the gap

Nashville based Music Tech startup, Artiphon, had a knack for coming up with new and innovative ways to make music. Imaginative and quirky, Artiphon's instruments were often unfamiliar, breaking the norms of what we've come to expect from a traditional "instrument." As Marketing Art Director I lived in the space between the company and the public, making content and creating a brand that bridged the gap between Artiphon's ideas and the audience's reality.

Small Instrument, Big Splash

In 2019 Artiphon released Orba, the first new product since the company's launch four years earlier. Orba was a completely different direction for Artiphon and it aimed to do big things, despite its small form factor. Feeling at home on the Kickstarter platform, Artiphon chose to launch the product there, and we (the marketing team) embarked on a 6-week mad dash to pull off went on to become a record breaking crowdfund campaign.

The value of value

After years of brand and content creation I wanted to test a simple hypothesis: Honest, vulnerable, value-based content is king. In March of 2023 I launched "The Art of Sucking at Music," a YouTube series that leaned on my background in brand, content creation, and music to tell relatable stories and encourage creatives to keep creating. I fully expected it to flop at first, and I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't.

I’m a brand strategist, former CEO, and creative leader with over a decade of experience scaling early-stage startups. I’ve built brands that resonate, led teams through transformation, and helped products find their audience. Most recently, I led the legacy music-tech company Cinesamples through a bold evolution, growing its new platform Musio by 5x and delivering its first profitable year since 2020.
